Prime Minister attends CARICOM Inter-sessional in Guyana

ST GEORGE'S, GRENADA, FEBRUARY, 15 2016, GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SERVICE (GIS): - Prime Minister Dr. the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell, leaves Grenada on Wednesday night to attend the Twenty-Eighth Inter-Sessional Meeting of the Caribbean Community in Guyana on February 16th and 17th.

Prime Minister Mitchell, along with Prime Ministers Skerrit (Dominica) and President Granger (Guyana) comprise the Bureau of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM.

On July 1st, Prime Minister Mitchell assumes chairmanship of the Caribbean Community for a six month period - a position which is now held by the Guyanese President.

The Prime Minister’s delegation to Guyana includes Minister for International Business, Health and Social Security, the Honourable Nickolas Steele.

Prime Minister Mitchell returns to Grenada on Friday night, February 17th.

Honourable Gregory Bowen will be the Acting Prime Minister during the absence of Dr. Mitchell.
