Local Media Invited to View Work of World Paediatric Project Orthopedic Team Currently Visiting Grenada
The world renowned World Paediatric Project WPP, orthopaedic team is currently in Grenada as preparation continues for its specialized mission to St. Vincent in September of this year.
The team which consists of nurses, doctors, medical social workers, among other technical support personnel is headed by WPPs Executive Director Lauren Mc Intosh.
The visit to Grenada is provides are an opportunity for the local media and stakeholders to meet members of the local, regional and international team and to witness first-hand medical pre-assessments of dozens of Grenadian children.
Earlier today WPPs local co-ordinator Sharon Davis told GIS that a total of 70 children were already registered for assessments. She said the group will conduct assessments up until mid-day on Thursday.
Davis added that parents and guardians of children can get in contact with her, Doctor Beverley Nelson or Doctor Tyhiesia Donald, at the General Hospital for assessments, and to discuss possible assistance and future visits.
The medical pre-assessments are being carried out at the General Hospital’s Out Patient Clinic on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 May from 8:00am.
